Going and Coming

Juliet R moved from Bedford to Brighton to Leeds and reporter Haydn has interviewed her.

What was it like growing up in Bedford?

It was very quiet in bedford. I think it was lots of fun but there wasn't an awful lot to do not like in Leeds when you can go to all the shops. There was only one shop in the town I grew up in. We had a park so that was good.

why did you move from Bedford to Brighton to Leeds?

It was for work really and also because in Brighton I always wanted to live by the sea so I found a job down there. When I needed a new job I moved up to Leeds.

What was the journey like?

I had to do it a few times because I had a lot of stuff to bring up. I think it took about 5 times in the car. I had lots of things but I had some help.

How did it feel when you got here?

When I got into my flat five of my friends were already here and they were helping me move in and that was nice. We had a bit of a party when I got here.

How is Brighton different to Leeds?

In Brighton there are some strange people. I think anything goes you see people walking around in very strange clothes. Brighton's a very touristy place it gets busy at the weekend especielly when the sun comes out but in Leeds the countryside is a lot nicer.

What was your school like in Bedford?

My school was okay it was very small it was very old as well. It was about 100 years old. I go back and look at it now it has tiny little chairs it's quite cute a nice school.

What did you do as a child for fun?

We had a park we used to go play over ther. We used to play on our bikes we used to play 45 and in do you play that?

What do you like the most about living in Leeds?

I like the shops in Leeds all the chlothes shops and shoe shops.
